Cambodia accepts two types of currency spend in the country, The national currency Riel, and USD.
Hotel, Restaurants, and tickets are more generally accept USD dollars.
Street food, small purchase from local or convenience stores, local markets prefer Riels more.

Bank Notes that would not accept in Cambodia
Even though Cambodia accept USD bank notes, however the 2$ Bills and USD Coins will not be accepted. As well as any other bank notes before 2009.
Any damage USD note with rips, tears, holes, marks, writings, or big creases are also will not be accepted, so you should avoid carrying or accepting it.
Foreign Cards
Foreign Cards are acceptable to pay in Cambodia… In a certain Places!
Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and maybe BattamBong and Sihanoukville, Kep, and Kampot accept foreign cards but only in Big Hotels, or Restaurants, or Supermarkets. (With the standard of 5% commissions fee)
So, it’s wise to always carry cash instead.
But how to Deposit your money? Fortunately, in Cambodia like Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, there are many ATM you can deposit your money (You will find them in Phnom Penh International Airport, and often time Stacked next to each other)
ATMs will almost always accept Master and Visa card (Some ATMs are picky and will accept one of the two but not both.)
For Maestro, AMEX, and along with the other cards, you may have to try a few ATMs before you find one that accepts your card.
The Maximum of One withdraw transition is 2 000 USD.
(With the fee between 4$ – 6$ for any of the cards with any amount you withdraw)
